It started out with my call of duty 4 crashing on MP. I read online that it might be a sound driver issue. I went to dell and i d/l the driver but when it installed, my speakers just stopped working. In device manger, its says it is working properly, but in the sound menu, its says that there is no sound device!!

I have tried many thing from many different forums but none seem to work. Now i have no sound and i hope that maybe someone from this site can give me some advice on how to fix this. ( it is not a sound card, its is a sound device on the mobo). I have also uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times. Thanks ~KaKashi12894.

I am having the same sound/audio problem many others are having. My old drivers will not install from the dell.com website b/c my computer (Dell XPS 410) says that the Windows 7 OS does not. That is, some systems can't be upgraded but they have to be CLEAN INSTALLED. One is not the other. Now while Dell does not supply drivers, this machine isn't that bizarre that I couldn't find drivers for the chipset and most of the video cards it used.
