Add Vmware Nic Drivers To Boot.Wim

Otherwise, I just use WDS's builtin utilities to do it. OP, you'll need to use DISM or Powershell if you're going to be adding drivers to a WinPE 10 image.
You'll need to mount it on the correct index. Generally, this is index 2. Running 'DISM /Get-WIMInfo' on the boot.wim will tell you which index to mount. It'll be the one called Windows Setup.
At this time of writing, there's a huge battle occurring between VMware and Microsoft (Citrix fights too but has only a marginal part of the market) for hypervisor dominance. This means that I cannot directly assumed which hypervisor is used. While both companies provide functionality for quickly deploying.

So currently I don't have MDT or WDS. Is it easier to have a 'Gold Image' for each version of Windows and inject the drivers from WDS? We have many different models and keeping drivers up to date would be taxing.
Anyone using WDS on server 2016? That is indeed the way to go. Either that or MDT. Both are free with Windows Server (MDT can be used for free on a PC as well). You really only need to update drivers once or twice a year.
But that just gives you another reason to standardize on hardware. Haven't tried WDS on Server 2016, but it's supposed to solve the issues with injecting drivers on WinPE 10. It's a fairly solid product on Server 2012 R2. Vella wrote: So in essence - If I spun up a WDS server and imported my image and added the drivers in WDS. I could deploy this image and upon logging - all the drivers would be installed or start installing automatically?
If so, I will try this today!:)Correct, as long as your filters are set correctly. Remember that they're verbatim, so you'll need to make sure you have it correct. For instance, Dell computers could have the manufacture set as 'Dell', 'Dell Inc' 'Dell, Inc' 'Dell, Inc.' Best way is to run systeminfo on a target computer to make sure you get the make and model correct.

Everything will be on the same subnet which but different networks.i.e servers ar Driver Cpc Module 2 Lgv Example Case Studies there. x.x.1.x and computers are x.x.2.x. Best practice is to have them on the same subnet and VLAN because PXE traffic doesn't like to traverse either. You won't be able to get a IP address from DHCP (and PXE booting will fail) without doing 1 of 3 things. • Create a DHCP scope on x.x.1.x that will be used for imaging workstations (best option) • Set two helper IPs on your router, one for the DHCP server, which you likely have set already, and one for WDS the server (second best) • Set DHCP options 66 and 77 (third best).
